Where Did Love Fly Last?

If love isn't on your ass

Perhaps love isn't love,

Love is a Lotta things but

Love isn't love if

Love isn't on your ass.

Is it skinny dipping in a lagoon,

Or lying alone, prone,

morose under moonlight?

Is it left by the side of the road

Meant to curb your insecurities

By letting go and seeing if it doesn't

Find its way home before

Getting crossed up by a hitchhiker

Winding his haphazard ass

Upon your highway?

If love isn't on your ass

Perhaps love isn't love,

Love is a Lotta things but

Love isn't love if

Love isn't on your ass.

Is it on your mind,

Weighing you down like

A past due notice and an empty

Refrigerator or,

Is it on your back,

Like a foreclosure letter

And all your belongings on your

Shoulders?

If love isn't on your ass,

Love better have been where

It said it had been, if love isn't,

See what I'm sayin,

Then where did love fly last?

A shrug in a dark bar could

Lead to a stick up or a last minute

Trip to an after hours jubilee

In some other

anonymous person's honor

But if love isn't sitting on your face

I guarantee it is

somewhere doing something

If love isn't love,

Being on your ass.

Love is a Lotta things but

Love isn't Love if Love

Isn't on your ass.

Dare One ask,

if Love hasn't been

Where it said it had been,

Then where did Love

Fly last?
